PMEGP / PM EGP / PMEGP Scheme
- PMEGP stands for Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme — a government initiative aimed at promoting self-employment and generating new micro and small-scale industries.
- The key feature of this scheme is the combination of financial assistance in the form of a “margin money subsidy” from the government along with bank loans to support entrepreneurs.
- The scheme is nationally coordinated by KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) as the nodal agency, while implementation at the state and district levels is carried out through KVIBs (Khadi and Village Industries Boards) and DICs (District Industries Centres)
