Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme Scheme

PMEGP Projects List

Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), eligible projects include small-scale industries, service-based businesses, and production-based units. These projects must be financially viable, aligned with local market needs, and capable of generating long-term income.

Important Factors to Consider While Selecting a PMEGP Project:

  1. Ensure the project is feasible in the local market.
  2. Check if raw materials are easily available.
  3. Assess whether you possess the necessary skills for the business.
  4. Confirm whether you can maintain personal control over the operations.
  5. Choose a business model that is profitable with low operational costs.

Examples of Common PMEGP Projects:

  • Food processing businesses (e.g., papad, pickles, spices)
  • Iron and wood-based industries
  • Mobile/computer repair centers
  • Bicycle/motorcycle repair shops
  • Detergent/soap manufacturing

Conduct a thorough study of the business, prepare a strong Detailed Project Report (DPR), and ensure submission of all required documents during the application process.
